Life of St Edmund's Prayer

StEdmundimage

Heavenly Father, as we gather in prayer, we ask for the guidance and inspiration of our school patron,
St Edmund, who led a life based on Gospel values and the belief in the power of God.

We, pray that like Edmund, each of us will personally come to believe that,
“I can do all things with the help of God who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13)
and that together our school community may grow ever closer to you and to one another.

May our school be a place that reaches out to the wider community
and is mindful of the environment around us.

We pray in union with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen

Admissions

2017 48

St Edmund's is a Catholic Voluntary Aided School open to boys and girls aged 11 to 16 of all abilities.

The School was established by the Roman Catholic people of Portsmouth to provide a Christian education for their children within the discipline and tradition of the Catholic Church.  The fundamental aim of the School today is to present a clear Christian philosophy and way of life, providing opportunities in which Christian values may develop.

We ask all parents applying for a place at St Edmund's Catholic School to respect our Catholic ethos and its importance to the School community.

This does not affect the right of parents who are not of the faith of this School to apply for and be considered for a place here.

Pupils will be admitted at Age 11 withouth reference to ability or aptitude.  The number of intended admissions for the academic year commencing September 2016 is 189 but Governors of the Admission Commission make notice to increase the allocation above the PAN (Published Planned Admission number for September 2017 Year 7 entry to 208.  Should there be more applications than places available, places will be offered according to the Admissions Policy 2016/2017.
