Our American Visitor

As a result of our gaining Fairtrade status we were visited by Neal Deles from Washington, U.S.A.
Neal works for the Catholic Relief Agency- the American equivalent of CAFOD. Neal was accompanied by Catherine Waters-Clark the Diocesan Adviser for Justice and Peace and Dave Hill the Diocesan Adviser forYouth. They discussed justice and peace issues across the curriculum with the Chair of the Youth SVP- Vicky O’Brien, the Chair of the Fairtrade Committee- Ben Godbold and representatives from R.E. Josh Colombi and Emma Longhurst-Gent, yr 10 and Frances O’ Sullivan and Jack Tolfree.

The pupils were great ambassadors for the school and our visitors were impressed with the pupils knowledge of justice and peace issues.

Lady Macbeth: Blood

Blood splattered across my hand
Marks that will not be gone
For all the perfumes in the land
Cannot change what I have done

Blood trickles down along my arm
I cannot rest at night
I murdered sleep, I murdered calm
I believed my decisions were right

Blood soaking through my hair and skin
The past is drowning me
Why did I let this all begin?
This is not how it was meant to be.
